Design Questionnaire
We’ve created this questionnaire to get to know you a bit better! Your individual style, property wish-list, likes, dislikes etc., are all important for us to know so we can create your perfect idea of home.
Find Your Style
Art Deco: Streamlined, geometric style. Styling’s similar to that of the 20’s and 30’s, characterized by rounded fronts, mirrored accents, sleek lines, wood furniture with chrome hardware and glass tops.
Asian: Inspired by design elements from Japan, China, Thailand etc. This look focuses on embodying a Zen, serene or calming environment. Natural colors and simplicity in design elements are typically punctuated by brightly colored accents. Bamboo decor, animal statues and hand painted furniture make this look come together.
Coastal: Inspired by the ocean, this style takes on a light and breezy feel. Beach themed or nautical inspired pieces really bring this look together. Color palettes are usually a striking combination of blue and white with gold or silver accents.
Contemporary: This style is composed from clean, sleek lines with an added pop of colour. Any furniture elements are usually lower to the ground and very geometric in shape. Bold choices in accessories balance the neutral colour palette in contemporary design.
Eclectic: This style is a mix and match of other design styles. Contrasting pieces should balance each other with the use of colour, pattern and texture to create an overall cohesive look. Accessory decor from different time periods can be used as well as “one of a kind” pieces that make a statement in a room.
Modern: This look achieves its simplicity and clean lines from lack of accessories. Geometric shapes and asymmetrical design features are typically paired with sleek furniture and a neutral color palette paired with one other contrasting color.
Moroccan: A heavily layered look with intricate patterns, cultural mosaics, lanterns, different textures and vibrant colors. There can never be enough pillows or rugs! Furniture pieces are often ornate wooden accents that have intricate patterns or carvings.
Traditional: This style is a classic. Décor is calming and the color palette is usually in the mid-tones with a muted accent colour. Patterns are usually a combination of solids, stripes, plaids, and florals. Furniture is chunkier with a solid, more prominent presence in a room.
Transitional: This look bridges the gap between traditional and contemporary. Large comfy seating mixed with sleeker furniture pieces makes this style come to life. Lots of wood, glass and chrome décor create a modernized yet timeless look.
Rustic: This design style combines a lot of wood, brick and metal furnishings. Wood paneling, exposed rough-cut timbers, vintage furniture, antique décor and a colour palette of deep reds, browns and blacks create rustic elegance in any room.
Find Your Landscape Style
Formal/Modern Landscape: The formal style has symmetrical patterns and straight lines. Garden beds are usually squared off and plantings are minimal. Topiary, well-pruned hedges and artificial turf are key features in this style of landscaping. A lot of maintenance is required to keep this formal look.
Informal Landscape: An informal landscape uses garden beds with curved edges, and plantings are arranged in seemingly random patterns or groupings. Asymmetrical patterns with soft plantings that don’t require a lot of pruning or additional maintenance are key elements of this style of landscape.
Woodland Landscape: A woodland landscape usually reflects that of the environment surrounding it. Plants have a less manicured appearance and are allowed to grow how it would naturally. Large trees, grasses, big shrubs and shade perennials are key components of this type of garden.
Asian Landscape: This type of landscape is usually quite simplistic, with minimal plantings. The use of rocks, water, grasses and pruned evergreens are typical features in this type of garden. Other garden elements can include privacy screens/paneling and statues.
English Garden Landscape: The English garden style utilizes many different types of flowers, perennials and shrubs planted in a haphazard arrangement. There are usually a lot of different groupings and pops of color. This style usually requires some maintenance so that the garden doesn’t become unruly over time. Other garden elements can include a small pond, bird baths, & arbors.
